Here’s a agreat Fall project !

You don’t really need a lot of items to create this handsome fella!😘

You can Recycle a bottle and use up some left over Burlap material or really any material you may have on hand!

I absolutely love being able to create something special with leftover items and bring them back to life as something totally different and simply beautiful!

This Scarecrow is a perfect example!

So I’m sure you have all you need on hand so let’s get to crafting!

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Glass or plastic bottle

  • Material of any kind

  • Scissors

  • Paint I used chalk and acrylic, Black, Orange, Red, Green,White , Brunt Umber and Ivory

  • Dixie Belle Wax

  • Embellishments of your choosing

  • Hot Glue

  • Raffia

Once you have gathered your items you are ready to get him together!

I used an old glass milk bottle, I wiped it down and got it ready to paint it.

ree

This is the paint I used for my base coat on the bottle !

I gave it two coats.

ree

While that was drying I started working on my hat .

I cut a piece of burlap and rolled a piece for the top part and glued it

ree

Then I cut a circle for the brim of the hat.

ree

I glued the top and bottom together.

ree

Then I cut a smaller circle for the top part.

Before I glued it on I stuffed a couple of pieces of paper towels and stuffed it in so it can stand up a little better . You can use some polyfil or a little cotton.

ree

Once my bottle was dry I sketched his face on it.

ree

Then before painting details I added a little cheek color . Remember go light with the cheeks you can always darken them if you want to .

ree

I then added the rest of the face , eyes ,nose and mouth.

ree

Then I added the details : eyelashes, line work and little white dots.

ree

Once that was dry I grunged it up with a little watered down Burnt Umber . You can use any Brown color paint you have for this step . I just love the Burnt Umber shade of brown I have been using it for years.

I also speckled it with a old toothbrush and used a little Burnt Umber on the bottle too!

ree

I went ahead and glued his hat on .

ree

I tied some raffia around the hat .

ree

I used this adorable Round Top metal flower I had for several years as an embellishment!

I just loved how it looked!

ree

I went ahead and grunged up the hat with Dixie Belle wax!

He just looks so darn cute!

ree

I made a cute little Fall tag !

I also added a loopy little rag bow before I glued my flower on !

ree

Simply adorable! I just love how Mr. Henry the Scarecrow came out !

Just a bottle and a little Burlap!
