Adorable DIY Light-Up Pumpkin Decorations

There’s just something about pumpkins that makes me smile! šŸŽƒāœØ And when you add a little bit of creativity, some paint, and a warm glow of tiny lights, they become even more magical.

I was recently inspired by a creator on IG Mustloveherbs when she created hers please go check her out!

I then immediately had to make these adorable little light-up pumpkins for me and I have to tell you—I am absolutely in love with how they turned out! They have that perfect combination of cute, cozy, and just a little bit spooky, making them such a fun addition to your fall and Halloween decorating.

And the best part?

They are so much easier to make than they look!

For this project, I used air-dry clay, a cookie cutter kit, mini lights, and paint. That’s really all it takes to create these sweet little pumpkins that glow from the inside. I’ll be sharing all of the supplies I used throughout this tutorial, along with links to the exact or similar products I found on Amazon, so you can easily find everything you need to make your own.

I love projects like this because you don't need to be an expert crafter or have a huge collection of fancy supplies. A little clay, a little imagination, and a willingness to play around can turn into something really special.

And honestly, isn’t that what crafting is all about? ā¤ļø

I created two different faces for my pumpkins—one is a little more sweet and silly, while the other has that classic Jack-o’-lantern grin. Once the mini lights are tucked inside, the cut-out faces glow beautifully and give these little pumpkins such a cozy nighttime glow.

They would be adorable sitting on a mantel, decorating a shelf, adding a little Halloween magic to a table, or even tucked into a fall display.

So grab your clay and your paint, and let’s make some little pumpkins that glow! šŸŽƒāœØ

What You’ll Need

Here are the supplies I used for this project:

  • Air-dry clay

  • A cookie cutter kit

  • Mini string lights

  • Acrylic paint

  • Magnets

  • Paint brushes

  • A few basic crafting tools

  • Your imagination! ā¤ļø

I’ll include my Amazon links to the supplies below so you can easily find everything I used.

Now let’s get started and turn a little bit of clay into some seriously adorable Halloween magic! šŸŽƒāœØ

Here’s the supplies you will need once you have gathered everything we are ready to create these cuties!

Spread out your Air Dry Clay once you have it the size you want you are ready to cut out your pumpkin.

There are so many choices for thier faces with these cute little cutter!

You will need two front and back .

The back stays solid and the front has the face cut out .

Once you have them cut out you will need a little piece of cardboard to prop it up while it drys .

I used a piece of an empty TP roll .

This is how it should look like with the cardboard in it.

You will have to adjust the little cardboard roll to fit you don’t want it too big!

I did use a paint brush with a little water to glue them together .

Once you are done let it dry over night.

Once they are dry you can remove the cardboard pieces.

You are now ready to paint them !

I was so excited to paint them I broke one ! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

So be careful with them and take your time! šŸ˜€

Here are the colors I used and the Mod Podge to seal them !

Harvest Orange

English Ivy Green

Burnt Umber

I only gave it one coat of paint.

Added the green for the stem!

Look how cute they are becoming!

I used Burnt Umber to shade it here and there!

That’s it for the front !

I painted the back too!

Then I gave the front and back a coat of sealer.

I glued a magnet on the back!

Then I added these little bubble lights to them!

That’s it I absolutely love how these came out!

That little glow on my refrigerator always makes me smile when I see them!

I hope you give these a try !

I know you will absolutely love them like I do!

And you know me I’m always looking for ways to create something beautiful without breaking the bank.

Simple. Sweet. Creative.

Just the way we like it. šŸ’•

If you make some, I’d love to see yours!
