Here’s another great project that you can create from rescued books!

I absolutely love creating with paper—especially when I can rescue old, damaged books and give them a brand-new life as something totally different! Just look at these beautiful Whimsical Umbrellas! They’re made from upcycled book pages and are such a charming way to decorate for spring or any season.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • 10 book pages

  • Scissors

  • Hot glue

  • Piece of wire you can even cut a piece of wire from a hanger

  • Round lid for pattern choose the size you want it to be.

  • Small wooden beads or anything you want to use for the top embellishment

  • Needle nose pliers

  • Wire cutters

Let’s Make These Beautiful DIy Umbrellas

Gather your supplies and start by tracing your circles .

I made 10 circles total!

If you want to grunge them up or paint them with a little watercolor paint now is the time to do so .

If not you can leave them like this it’s totally up to you.

Now you can fold them all in half .

Now you can fold them again like this .

It should look like this .

I went ahead and drew a line so you can see where to put your glue . Line is only for you to see where to put the glue .

Glue them all like that and you should have these .

Now you are going to glue them all together again I drew a line so you can see where you place the glue.

Now you should have this .

Now you will need your wire . Use your wire cutters and cut a piece long enough so you have a nice handle and enough to add your bead on top .

Glue it on like this . Make sure your rounded edge of your paper is towards the top facing out.

Then again I drew a line so you can see how to glue your two ends together.

You should end up with this . . So darn cute!

Now add your bead . I did add a drop of glue to hold it down.

I also bent the top wire to curl a little too.

There you have it ! ❤️☂️

How adorable are these ! They look adorable anywhere you decide to display them !

I just love these so much ! I hope you do too!
