If you’re looking for a quick, adorable, and budget-friendly craft, this little fluffy sheep is the perfect project! 🐑💛 All you need is a simple plastic shower ring, some yarn, and just a few minutes of crochet. This is one of those fun projects that looks much harder than it really is and it’s great for beginners, gifts, ornaments, or even farmhouse décor. In today’s tutorial, I’ll walk you through exactly how to crochet around the shower ring to create that soft, woolly body. Once you learn this easy technique, you’ll be able to whip up a whole flock in no time!

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • A package of Shower Hooks

  •  Black construction paper , or Black felt for face

  • Cotton ball

  • Hot glue

  • Yarn

  • Brown wax I use Dixie Belle (optional)

  • Crochet hook size will depend on what yarn you choose to use

Once you have your supplies you are ready to create this little flock ! 🤣

I crocheted about 40 single crochets all the way around.

Depending on the thickness of your yarn you might need to do more or less.

How to Single Crochet Around a Shower Ring

To create the soft, fluffy body of your sheep, you’ll be working one row of single crochet (sc) directly around a plastic shower ring. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Attach your yarn

Tie your yarn onto the shower ring with a small knot. Hold the ring in one hand and your hook in the other.

  2. Insert your hook under the ring

Slide your hook under the ring from front to back.

  3. Yarn over

Wrap the yarn over your hook from back to front.

  4. Pull up a loop

Bring the yarn back under the ring. You should now have one loop on your hook.

  5. Yarn over again, and

  6. Pull through both loops on your hook.

This completes your first single crochet.

  7. Continue working around the ring

Insert your hook under the ring again, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, and pull through both loops. Repeat this all the way around until the ring is fully covered and fluffy.

  8. Finish the row

Once the ring is completely covered, cut the yarn, leave a small tail, and tie or tuck it neatly into the stitches on the back.

Then I drew out my head you can use this one as a guide .

I used card stock paper , you can use felt , or even cardboard.

ree

So simple !

I had black card stock paper but if you don’t have any that color you can paint it black .

ree

I glued their head on with hot glue .

Then I got some thin sticks from my yard and made them some legs. I glued those on too!

ree

So darn cute!

ree

I got a little bit of cotton and glued it on his head.

ree

I wanted mine a little grunge so I of course added a little Brown wax you can skip this step if you don’t want to do this .

ree

I just love these!

ree

I made a little hanger for them with the yarn I used for the body.
