What a fun way to welcome the holiday season with these sweet fun ornaments !
You can pick up these lids at an inexpensive price! This project is perfect for this Winter season!š āļøāļø
I absolutely loveĀ being able to create something special with items you can easily access.
I love bringing new life into something that was something totally different!
Letās gather our items and get started !
Supplies Youāll Need:
Small plastic lids
red, black, orange paint. I used acrylic.
Glitter
Hot glue
Ribbon or twine for hanger
Minwax sealer or mod Podge
Hats of some sort crocheted or made with material
Embellishments of your choosing
Snow Tex or spackling
Rub n Buff gold leaf

These are the lids I love to use for this project!
I get them usually at Family Dollar.
They are $1.25 for a pkg of 10.

I donāt do anything to them prior to painting them .

I added my cheeks on .
I donāt wet my brush in water . I just dip it in my paint
Then rub it on a dry paper towel or cloth then add to my lid.

This is the red I used but I have made these so many times and I have used different shades of red .

Then I added their whimsical nose!

This is the color orange I picked.

I then added their hats .
I hot glued them on.
This one was made with a piece of a sweater edge I had cut up for other projects!
You can use anything you have on hand the edge of some socks , or crochet some .

After the hat was on I painted his face with Black .

Then I tied a piece of fuzzy yarn around the middle of hat !
How cute is he already!

Since I had several to make I went ahead and painted all their faces !

This adorable little hat I crocheted!
I just chained 12
Turn, ch 1 then single crochet arcross to the end. Ch 1 turn
Row 2. Single crochet in the back loop of each stitch this will give it a really nice texture.
Remember to always ch 1. Then turn.
Repeat row 2. about 12 to 14 times depending on how tight or loose you crochet.
The goal is to make sure the hat fits around the lid.
Once you are done you can sew it together with a simple stitch joining both sides together. Then you are ready to glue on.

Create different hats on them itās really fun to let your imagination run wild !
Tie ribbons make pompoms the sky is the limit!

This step is totally up to you but I love mine being alittle grungy so I wiped a little Rub n Buff in Gold Leaf around the edges and on the hats!

I just love this look! They are just so adorable!

Have fun with this project!
I have more Iām working on right now and Iām making their sweet hat different as you can see!

I will also outline thier nose too.

Once Iām done I will add some Snow Tex and a little glitter!
Also you can add a hanger to the back using ribbon or twine .
