As you can tell I love Dragonflies!
Here is another beautiful version of them that you may want to try !
Yes it involves a little crocheting but this is beginner friendly for those of you that know the basic crochet stitches.
They are very easy to learn you can YouTube them to see how they are created.
You will only use 4 different stitches.
You will Chain (ch)
You will Single Crochet (sc)
You will Slip Stitch (sl st)
And you will Double Crochet (dc)
that’s it those are really the basic stitches to create any crocheting project!
Supplies you will need
• yarn
• crochet hook I used a G
• twine
• wooden bead
• wire
• hot glue
• skewer
Let get ready to create a Dragonfly! 😀
You will be making two wings.
One large and one a little smaller.
You will need to crochet a chain of 21 .
You will need to skip two stitches then you will do 9 double crochets . One in each chain.
Then you will need to do 1 single crochet in the next stitch.
That makes the middle of your wing.
Then you will do the same thing on the remaining stitches . You will do 9 double crochets.
At the end you will crochet 3 more double crochets in that last stitch.
Then you will repeat everything on the other side 9 double crochets, 1 single crochet and then 9 double crochets with 3 double crochets in the end stitch. Then just join together with a slip stitch and secure well .
Trim off ends of strings.
This is what it should look like .
Don’t over think this . 😀
It’s easy and fun!
You will make a little smaller wing.
By crocheting a chain of 18 .
You will skip the first two chains and then crocheting 8 double crochets, 1 single crochet, 8 double crochets plus 2 double crochets at the end .
Repeat it on the other side .
Join together then trim strings
Now you will squeeze them together like this .
You will put both together on top of each other. By pinching it in the middle.
I then took my skewer and stuck it through.
I took my twine and added a drop of glue on top of my stick and starting wrapping it .
It should look like this.
When I got to the bottom I then wrapped it going back up the stick and added a drop of glue at the end and trimmed off the twine.
It should look like this .
I trimmed the top of my skewer and then glued my bead on .
It looks so cute already!
I got a piece of wire and made my antennas .
I curled the ends and then I glued it in .
I had a little hole on the top of my bead. So it glued it in really well.
I took my watercolor paint and used just a little pink for the cheeks on my bead.
Then I used my wax Dixie Belle in brown ( which I love and use a lot!) to grunge it up alittle!
Look how adorable! I’m in love!🥰
