Sweet Simple Flags

Writer: fatimamhollandfatimamholland

I love creating for each Holiday !

It’s a passion for me . It comes easy and I truly love it.

I had this beautiful material on hand and the first thing I thought of was Flags !

So here they are!

I hope you too enjoy creating them !

Supplies you will need:

• Material of your choice

• Dowels or Thin Branches

 • Hot glue

• scissors

• iron

• raffia or ribbon

• Brown wax or Brown acrylic paint

So let’s get started !

I cut my material on the fold . So it was 5” but when you open it you should have a 10” piece.

If that’s the size you decide to make it .

I used this wonderful little heat press to smooth everything out as I went .

I cut my star material it was about 6” long x 2” high .

Again you can cut it on the fold .

So it would be 3” and when you open it should be 6” long.

I cut my piece of material.

You can decide for yourself how big you want yours .

My piece was 10” long x 5”high.

I used a little Heat Bond to apply my star material on .

I used my small heat press to secure it on.

This is how it should look.

I love using this little sewing machine for these small projects!

I sewed the side leaving the top and bottom opened so I can slide my dowel in .

I went ahead and sewed it on all sides.

Once I was done sewing it I used this little heat press to flatten everything.

Its just wonderful!

It was a gift from my daughter this past Christmas!

It’s so handy !

I used my favorite Dixie Belle Wax in Brown.

I love that grunge look!

know I know I say it all the time! 🤣

I inserted my dowels and added a little brown wax to that too!

I added a little drop of hot glue to the material just so the dowels don’t slide out.

For the finishing touch I tied some raffla bows to them .

How adorable!

I popped them in a mason jar with some battery operated fairy lights and it makes such a beautiful centerpiece!

Don’t you think?

I love how these Sweet Flags came out!

They are super quick to make ! ❤️

They are the perfect project to add a whimsical festive look anywhere in your home!

I hope you give them a try.

I know you will love this project as much as I do!
