There’s just something about tiny handmade bunnies that makes my heart happy. 💕 These little cuties are quick to make, use very little yarn, and can be turned into so many things — an ornament, a sweet spring decoration, a gift topper, or even an adorable wearable pin.
I love projects like this because they’re simple, beginner-friendly, and you can personalize each one with your own stitching and details.
Here’s exactly how I made mine so you can create your own!
✨ Materials
Cotton or acrylic yarn (white or cream works beautifully)
Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
Yarn needle
plush for cheeks/ears
Twine (if making ornament) or pin backing (if making wearable pin)
Scissors
🧶 Bunny Body
Chain 15.
Join to form a circle (being careful not to twist).
Chain 1.
Single crochet (sc) in each stitch around.
Repeat this row 10 times.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
This creates that sweet little body shape.
🐰 Ears (Make 2)
Make a magic circle.
Crochet 5 sc into the circle.
Join and chain 1.
Sc in each stitch around.
Repeat this row 6 times.
Join and fasten off.
Make the second ear the same way.
✂️ Assembly
Sew the ears onto the top of the body.
Stitch the face details using yarn.
(You can look at my bunny for placement — eyes slightly angled and a simple stitched nose/mouth works perfectly.)
Add a little plush for cheeks and inside the ears for that sweet blush effect.

🎀 Finishing Options
From here you can choose how you want to use your bunny.
Ornament:
Attach a loop of twine or yarn at the top for hanging.
Pin:
Glue or sew a pin backing to the back so you can wear it on jackets, bags, or hats.
💕 Why I Love This Project
Quick and relaxing to make
Perfect for scrap yarn
Great for gifts or craft fairs
