I always enjoy creating with these Peat Pots !

They are so inexpensive and look great with any project you decide to create using them!

I love how quick this Red White and Blue Hat came together!

You can use them across your mantle or on a shelf , or your seasonal tree!

These are only a few suggestions!

Here’s the Supplies you will need :

• Wooden or metal Star

• Hot Glue

• red white and blue napkin ( or material)

• Blue paint ( I used chalk paint) you can use whatever blue you have on hand.

• cardboard

•Elmer’s clear glue

• raffia

• glitter

• Dixie Bell wax Brown

Your hat doesn’t have to be exactly like this one . Choose the look you like most .

That’s the wonderful thing about crafting it all looks unique and customized to you!

These are just the items I used for mine .

If you don’t have Peat Pots you can easily use a small clay pot or a styrofoam cup .

ree

I used Home decor nautical Chalk paint .

ree

I cut circles from a piece of cardboard I was making more then one .

Decide what size you want your rim of your hat to be .

I used a lid to trace my size out .

ree

I had this napkin on hand .

Keep in mind you can use scrapebook paper, or material.

ree

I love using this glue it never disappoints!

I brushed it on my Peat Pod and covered it with my napkin.

ree

I glued my napkin and this is the bottom of my pot.

ree

I then glued the edges down inside the pot.

ree

Once I was done and it was dried I glued the pot to the cardboard rim !

Already looking cute!

ree

Since my napkin had these adorable stars I used a piece of it and glued it on too.

You can easily paint a little square with the same blue you used and paint some small stars on it .

It’s all about being creative. 😀

ree

I had made some twine awhile back with material so it was perfect for a little trim for the top of my hat .

You can use ribbon or regular Jude for this step , or just leave it plain .

ree

I then painted a ban around my hat with the same blue I used.

ree

While my hat was drying I got my wooden star and painted it brown I used acrylic paint (Burnt Umber) .

ree

I also sprinkled cinnamon on it to give it that rusty look.

ree

While it was still wet I went ahead and sprinkled the cinnamon.

ree

After I put the cinnamon on I took my Elmer’s glue and put a coat of it on top .

Then I sprinkled my glitter.

ree

While my star was drying I lightly sanded my Hat rim .

ree

I took some raffia and I put some around my hat .

ree

I also added a raffia bow!

So cute!

I love it already!

ree

Here’s my star ready to be glued on!

ree

Look how adorable so festive!

ree

Add this point you can decide if you want to add a hanger on it ?

I did so I cut a piece of wire and attached it on .

If you decide to use a clay pot you will probably want to leave it without it.

ree

I love it !

ree

Of course I had to grunge it up alittle!🤣

I used my favorite Dixie Belle wax on brown. ( you can use brown paint for this step as well if you choose to do this)

ree

Here it is !
